Rates have moved higher at Wells Fargo. The best rate for the conventional 30-year fixed mortgage is 4.125% today with a 4.150% APR. Wells Fargo advertises the popular 15-year fixed loan at 3.250% with an APR of 3.356%. A 7/1 adjustable-rate mortgage is published at 3.625% to start with a 3.608% APR. A 5-year FHA ARM is quoted at 4.125% for the first five years.

Rates are slightly higher for borrowers who want a larger conforming loan, available in high-cost areas. A larger 30-year fixed conforming mortgage is quoted at 4.125% today with an APR of 4.139%. A larger 7/1 ARM is published at 3.875% for the first seven years with a 3.690% APR.

SunTrust Mortgage Rates

Rates have moved higher at SunTrust since last week. The best rate for a 30-year fixed mortgage today is 3.700%, up from 3.6% last week. A 15-year fixed loan is quoted at 2.900% with a 3.207% APR. Buyers can lock into a 30-year jumbo loan at 3.800% with an APR of 3.947%. The lowest rate for a 30-year fixed mortgage is for an FHA loan at 3.400%, although the APR for an FHA loan is quoted at 4.572%. A 30-year fixed VA mortgage is quoted at 3.400% today with an APR of 3.687%. A 15-year fixed VA loan is quoted at 3.125%.

SunTrust also offers adjustable rate loans. A 5/1 VA loan is quoted at 3.990% today with an APR of 3.613%. The popular conventional 7/1 adjustable rate mortgage is advertised at 3.250% with a 3.547% APR. The best rate at SunTrust is for a 5/1 ARM with an interest rate of 2.990% to start and a 3.486% APR.
