NBC hit series This Is Us finally returns on Tuesday, 12th January, and fans should prepare for emotional ups and downs!
Mandy Moore, who plays the lead role of Rebecca Pearson in this TV series showed up yesterday on the Golden Globe red carpet in Beverly Hills, in a stunning Naeem Khan gown. Asked about the next episode by Ryan Seacrest, E! News reporter, the actress said: “We’ve been off for five weeks and I know we left everyone with a bit of a cliffhanger, but the thing about this show is there are always crazy roller coasters of emotion and this episode is no exception.”
She gave her opinion on This Is Us instant and tremendous popularity, explaining how people looked for some real emotions, and how they finally found them. “I think at this point in time, people were really hungry for cathartic entertainment,” she told E! News. “People want to feel their feelings and they’re able to connect with these characters and the stories and the challenges and obstacles in a way that maybe not a lot of other networks shows present to people.”
This was the first Golden Globe nomination for Mandy Moore, thanks to her excellent job in the series. She was in the race for the prestigious award: Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Limited Series or TV Movie category, and she actually found out about it from her TV husband, Milo Ventimiglia. “I was home, I was awake, and I was getting ready to make coffee and my phone lit up with a text from Milo, my costar, saying, ‘Congratulations!’ I said, ‘did the show get nominated?’ Then he didn’t answer me back, so I started frantically looking online and saw the news there!” said 32 years old Mandy.
Except for Mandy Moore – Lena Headey (Game of Thrones), Thandie Newton (Westworld), and Moore’s co-star Chrissy Metz (This Is Us) were also nominated, and the award winner was Olivia Colman for her role in The Night Manager.
